The Schutt ION 4D(TM) is unlike any helmet that's ever been designed before.

The sleek, aggressive styling of the shell includes the Schutt Energy Wedge Faceguard attachment system. The faceguard is integrated right into the shell and is stronger and more durable than classic faceguards. The ION provides UP TO 55% more Impact Absorption than the Riddell Revolution - Just one of the reasons this lid was voted PRODUCT OF THE YEAR!!

The ION 4D also features the next generation Thermoplastic Urethane Cushioning (TPU). TPU is superior to older, traditional foam padding. The TPU cushions eliminate any break-in period and make it the most comfortable football helmet you'll ever wear - right out of the box!

I ordered the Air XP in XL originally and got it, but with a L ROPO faceguard (ordered OPO - Turned out OPO was out of stock), so with this I decided to bite the bullet and just upgrade anyway as I was regretting not straight after my order.
ION 4D XL arrived while I was at training, I quickly set up the helmet at training, not realising I had been sent a L faceguard again. It was a tight squeeze but it still fit, and being my first helmet I didn't know any better. The faceguard though was noticeably wrong as it was impairing my view. It got resolved for the following week, and all seems good. Think it may be slightly bigger than I need, but my head measurement suggested I needed an XL by about 0.5inch, so I doubt the L would have fit.

During all this though, including issues with other orders (I made for teammates), Mike has been very helpful with advice and just generally trying to get things sorted during what sounds to be a sudden demand for equipment.

The Ion 4d was well worth the extra money. I didn't think a helmet could be this comfy. It's a scary looking helmet and very stylish.

The service was awesome, I would well recommend this company. Always helpful and friendly.

i upgraded in my starter kit to have this hemit. at the end of the day, this is your head your protecting. you want the most protection you can have. the helmit is light weight and very comfitable. after using some old helmits that my club lent me the ION 4D feels like i am wearing a pillow. its awsome! with the air pockets in it aswel you really can make it the perfect fit.
